Pork You, Christmas

Tonight at 7 p.m. central time, former Mystery Science Theater 3000 stalwarts Mike Nelson, Bill Corbett (Crow T. Robot) and Kevin Murphy (Tom Servo), along with special guest Al Yankovic — yes, the weird one — will deconstruct, destroy and defenestrate a bevy of Christmas shorts live in Escondido, California. That's good news for California fans of their RiffTrax endeavor. What's better news is that the event is being broadcast live to select movie theaters across the country, including the AMC Esquire 7 (6706 Clayton Road, Richmond Heights; 314-781-9017 or www.ncm.com). On the riffing block for RiffTrax Live: Christmas Short-Stravaganza are an unnatural animated version of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, a few classic commercials and a Christmas-themed musical that's really a thinly veiled promotional item touting the holiday magic of pork. Pork is truly versatile, being the most tasty of the meats and the most humor-rich. Tickets for the broadcast are $12.50.
