Welcome, Fellow Travelers

Like an inconsistent ghost, Artica rematerializes this year at an unexpected time, but not an unwelcome one. The outdoor art exhibition created by a loosely confederated gang of dreamers, thinkers and doers returns to the open patch of ground near the Mississippi riverfront (near Dickson and Lewis streets) from noon to midnight today. In that span of twelve hours, an alternate St. Louis will sprout up in the form of installations, interactive displays and performances, highly conceptual reinterpretations of time and space and random acts of sensible beauty. Time Travelers' Homecoming is the theme of this manifestation, and all those who believe St. Louis to be a beautiful experience are welcome to visit and share the wonder. The usual rules apply for citizenship: Be respectful, be curious, be open and behave. Admission is free, and dress for the weather. Visit www.artica.org for updates from participating artists and other information.
