Dream of A Bright Christmas
One option for a night of Christmas cheer: Drive around through neighborhoods in search of well-done, i.e. Christmas Vacation-ish, holiday displays and hope with every round of "Jingle Bells" -- and each tank of gas -- that you hit the jackpot. Another option? Go for Griswold gold and hit up Winter Wonderland at Tilles Park (9551 Litzsinger Road, Ladue). The county park features about a bajillion glowing bulbs and all manner of wintry scenes -- your inner Clark will surely be satisfied -- and also offers carriage rides to those who plan ahead and reserve them either by phone or internet (314-534-1111 or www.metrotix.com). The buggies cost $10 to $15 person despending on the type of carriage selected; regular admission to Tilles is $9. Winter Wonderland is open 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. nightly through Sunday, January 3 (closed Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve), and Saturday night is reserved solely for carriages (no vehicular traffic).
