The City Museum (701 North Fifteenth Street; 314-231-2489 or www.citymuseum.org), in addition to the usual strangeness and beauty found within its walls -- giant slides, the Tiny Train Town Model Railroad, the Enchanted Caves -- the museum continues to offer its popular Flashlight Nights from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. At 11 p.m., the lights in the museum are doused and all your exploring must be done by flashlight (BYOF, or purchase one in the gift shop). Yes, stumbling about in the dark, alternately enchanted by what you find (life-size whale!) and horrified (giant pair of underpants!) -- this is exactly what your summer should be be like. Admission is $12, although that drops to $10 after 5 p.m.
