It's Gonna Be A Good Weekend

By Night & Day Global Industries' calculations, St. Louisans love three things most about this metropolis: the Arch, Highway 40 and beer (for the purposes of our numbers, sports-related local things were kept in their own category). Of course, it is perhaps the last item on this list that we adore above all else — more than even some members of our families (beer doesn't ask you to help it move) — and so that is why we expect the turnout to be spectacular for this weekend's St. Louis Centennial Beer Festival. Held at Schnaider Brewery Malt House (a.k.a. Moulin Events & Meetings, at 2017 Chouteau Avenue), the fest is composed of three main happenings: the five-course brewmaster dinner from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, January 29 ($59), brewer discussions and beer tastings of more than 60 brews from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, January 30 ($25 to $35), and brunch and a beer bus tour starting at noon on Sunday, January 31 ($70). To purchase tickets in advance for any or all of the goings-on (which is recommended), call 314-241-4949, and find more details at www.vindeset.com/events.
