Different Looks

New Perspectives, an exhibition of prints created by seven artists, debuts with a soft opening at the Donald D. Shook Fine Arts Building on the St. Charles Community College campus (4601 Mid Rivers Mall Drive; 636-922-8000 or www.stchas.edu). The featured prints range from the grim austerity of Roxanne Phillips' History, a lonely view of the hills dominated by a guard tower and barbed wire in the foreground, to the delightful surprises of Travis Russell's Rumor Mill, a rustic scene of folks sitting by the old saw mill — while wearing animal masks. Other artists displaying their take on the art of printmaking include Cameron Fuller, Gina Alvarez and Amanda Verbeck. An artists' reception takes place at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 31; the gallery is open Monday through Saturday (March 8 through April 8), and admission is free.
Mondays-Saturdays. Starts: March 8. Continues through April 8, 2010
