So Impressed

Contrary to popular belief, Steve Guttenberg, one-third of the Three-Men-and-a trio, didn't invent the printing press — he's not even that old, people! In fact, the credit for this revolutionary apparatus goes to Johannes Gutenberg, a German fellow who lived in the fifteenth century. Now, the life of printing-press Gutenberg may not seem that exciting to you, a Facebooking, Tweeting individual who totally embraces this, the digital age. But that is exactly where you'd be wrong, dear reader — and Bud and Doug would like to prove it to you. This pair is trying to get funding for a musical all about the inventor, and so they sing a bunch of songs and put on one heck of a show to prove how great their play truly is. But will they get the money? And will they entertain you in the process? Check out the Temporary Theatre Company's production of Gutenberg! The Musical! to find out. The comedy, starring Ben Nordstrom and Steve Isom, is presented at the Ivory Theatre (7622 Michigan Avenue) at 7 p.m. Tuesday, 8 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday (March 11 through 28). For tickets, which cost $10 to $20, call 314-631-8330.
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: March 11. Continues through March 28, 2010
