Be Eco-Logical

Forest Park graciously hosts the St. Louis' 40th Anniversary Earth Day Festival. The Species Parade starts off the fest at 11:45 p.m., so arrive early, dressed like your favorite animal of any species to join the marchers. The festival is set up in themed neighborhoods where you can learn about topics including sustainable living from renewable energy sources, purging one's home of harmful chemicals, reducing the use of wasteful materials, more effective modes of transportation and more healthful living. Both the renowned Erin Bode and the fantastic Shakespeare Festival St. Louis are part of this year's entertainment. More than twenty food vendors offer healthy and natural treats (no trans-fat or high fructose corn syrup allowed), and locally produced rum, wine and beer will also be available. The Earth Day celebration lasts from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the Muny grounds in Forest Park; free admission and free valet bike parking is available.
