Ahoy, Beach Heads
While we may have cheaper rents and restaurants in the Midwest, we do lack the warming glow of sandy beaches. The Magic House (516 South Kirkwood Road, Kirkwood) has worked hard to rectify this problem, though, hauling in ten truckloads of sandy goodness in order to reestablish Sandcastle Beach this summer. From Thursday, May 20, through Sunday, June 27, you can frolic on what is undoubtedly the largest beach in the central counties. Sift for hidden seashells, walk on the boardwalk and enjoy the 75-ton sandcastle being built by a master sand sculptor.
