Saturdays seem ready-made for errand-running. You've finished with the workweek, you unwound with a few Friday-night cocktails, you got a fair amount of sleep last night and had a solid breakfast — so now, what are you going to do? You might as well get some shopping done at the grocery store, stop by Target for a few things, pick up your dry-cleaning, etc., etc. — you know, all of the really, really boring stuff. Or you could head downtown for St. Louis Uncorked: A Wine & Music Festival. Held from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Soldiers Memorial Plaza (12th and Market streets), this party offers more than enough to keep you out-of-doors and occupied (with things to do other than those items on your to-do list). Local wineries provide some of the sips — including Vintner's Cellar Winery and many Hermann-area wineries — and various restaurants serve up the eats, from Emperor's Palace with its sesame chicken, pot stickers and more, to Lola's crêpes. Plus, music runs the length of the fest, with Griffin & the Gargoyles kicking things off in the morning, Groovethang rocking out into the night and other bands filling in the spaces in between. Admission to St. Louis Uncorked is free; visit www.stluncorked.com to learn more.
