Lots of Shorts

The Saint Louis Filmmakers Showcase is winding down, but there're still plenty of films to see. Tonight you can maximize your movie watching with the Experimental Shorts program at 7 p.m., and/or Comedy Shorts 2 at 9:15 p.m., all at the Landmark Tivoli Theatre (6350 Delmar Boulevard, University City; 314-289-4150 or www.cinemastlouis.org). The Experimental program features works by Van McElwee, Zlatko Cosic and R. D. Zurick, and the Comedy program features a real gem in "Acorn Theory," Emily Hatcher and Whitney Gelnett's mostly dialogue-free short about a charmingly goofy groundskeeper who stumbles across a lucky acorn and then loses it when he needs it most. Admission to each program is $8 to $10.
