After two years and (reportedly) 1,000 hours of studio time, Yes Yes Yes, the long-awaited LP by Elsinore, is finally in stores. It may be clichéd to say it was worth the wait, but so be it. The disc delivers smart songcraft, classical melodic conventions and Ryan Groff's high-reaching vocals — in other words, the traits that have made the Champaign band a regional favorite. However, a jet stream of power-pop energy gives the album wings; Yes has no shortage of candy-coated hooks, especially on the title track and "Chemicals." The band is also offering an online-only companion EP of remixes. Although indie-rock remixes are usually a dicey proposition, Elsinore's songs are surprisingly malleable. Drum-machine loops, synth hits and glitchy samples give another dimension to the band's straight-ahead pop sound.
