Cool Treats and Reads

School has started once again, and that means another nine months of homework, brown-bag lunches and maneuvering the oft-perilous social castes of middle school. As always, the St. Louis County Library is here to help. This evening, author Amy Ignatow reads from her new book, The Popularity Papers: Research for the Social Improvement and General Betterment of Lydia Goldblatt and Julie Graham-Chang. In the humorous tome, best friends Lydia and Julie attempt to discern the secret algorithm to becoming popular, with hilarious missteps and tiny revelations popping up along the way. To sweeten the deal, the Wimpy Kid Ice Cream Truck will be on site to hand out free Popsicles and offer a sneak peak at the fifth installment of Jeff Kinney's acclaimed Wimpy Kid book series. The free event begins at 6 p.m. and takes place at the St. Louis County Library Headquarters (1640 South Lindbergh Boulevard, Frontenac).
