Love A Fair

Lest you worry about the post-Labor Day festival let-down effect — the past few weekends have been slammed with fun! — Clayton comes through with the Saint Louis Art Fair. Held from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday (September 10 through 12), this fest features art and artsy items from St. Louisans as well as from folks who hail from all over the country. Expect to see wood and ceramic works, jewelry and fiber arts, painting, photography and more, along with a robust crowd ready to shop and have a good time. Helping to facilitate the latter are several stages of entertainment featuring all kinds of music and dance, hands-on art activities for kids and adults, lots of food and drink, and plenty of people-watching amusements. The Saint Louis Art Fair takes place in downtown Clayton (Forsyth Boulevard runs right through the middle of the event), and all meters are free for the weekend, as are some lots and garages. Visit www.culturalfestivals.com for parking details and more information.
