Photographer Michael Eastman has documented the beautiful anachronisms of Cuba, the run-down storefronts of the American Midwest, the pulpy strangeness of cacti in close-up, the regal power of horses — if it captures his fancy, he captures its. Michael Eastman and Master Artist Series Students, the new exhibition at the Millstone Gallery at the Center of Creative Arts (524 Trinity Avenue, University City; 314-725-6555 or www.cocastl.org), features a selection of career-spanning work by Eastman (that's Globe Window, 2010 pictured) as well as photographs made by students in Eastman's Master class. The show opens with a free public reception at 6 p.m. Friday, September 24, and an artist talk at 6:30 p.m. The work remains up through Sunday, November 14, and the gallery is open daily.
