If you're with us, you're of the opinion that any hockey is good hockey (and you are with us — we're sharing the same figurative booth and some brewskis here while we speak the wonderful language of ice). How about some ace college-level hockey? Friday, October 8, at the Scottrade Center (1401 Clark Avenue; 314-622-5435 or www.scottradecenter.com), experience the 2010 Collegiate Ice Breaker Tournament, wherein four elite NCAA squads face off downtown to inaugurate the 2010 season — St. Louis scores! Notre Dame plays Holy Cross at 5:30 p.m. and Boston University skates against the University of Wisconsin at 8:30 p.m.; the consolation and championship games are Sunday, October 10, at the same venue. All-session tickets are $25 to $65 while single-session tix range from $15 to $35. This all-weekend major event is a boon for our town and — it goes without saying — for hockey fans as well.
Fri., Oct. 8; Sun., Oct. 10, 2010
