The festival so popular the neighbors asked it to move and the buses won't display its posters, Soulard Oktoberfest rolls out the barrels in Lyon Park (Arsenal Street and South Broadway) from Friday through Sunday (October 8 through 10). Plenty of pretzels, bratwurst, potato pancakes and beer -- delicious, wholesome beer -- await you, as do musical acts from Germany (Chikeria and The Weinberg Brass Kapelle) and the ladies of the Miss Soulard Oktoberfest Beauty Pageant. Oktoberfest is open from 5 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 per day, and the eating & drinking competitions carry entrance fees as well.
