The golden age of streaking is well behind us, thanks in part to events like the GO! St. Louis Halloween 10K & Fun Run. In addition to attracting the area's top athletes, the race draws thousands of costumed racers, the antithesis of those antiquated "in-the-raw" runners that were once an all-too-often menace to society. The 10K race is limited to 5,000 participants, but the event also includes a one-mile fun run open to all ages and fitness levels. Participants can also take part in the KMOX (1120 AM) costume contest. An expert panel of judges will award first-, second- and third-place prizes in a variety of categories, including most original, funniest, best group, youth and best of show. The fun takes place today from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tucker Boulevard and Washington Avenue in downtown St Louis. For registration details and more information, visit www.gostlouis.org.
