Don't tell us you missed the hot slutty naked lady.
In this week's newspaper, we've got a feature on the true identity of – and the real story behind – the no-holds-barred sex blogger The Beautiful Kind, who has documented her raucous sex life without blinking for many years.
You may have missed it, however, because we just couldn't wait 'til Tuesday, our usual day for updating our website. We posted it Monday instead – both National Coming Out Day and the day our blogging heroine ceased to be anonymous.
Turns out, the bisexual, polyamorous, sex-positive kinky lady is Kendra Holliday: a 38-year-old divorced woman with a kid, a bunch of cats and a devoted partner who shares and loves many of her proclivities.
She hid for years, but early this spring her employer found out who she was and canned her right away. (The ex-husband she's raising her kid with has known about her life and her blog for years and is sort of kind of cool with it – but not completely.) Holliday decided that enough was enough. Rather than hiding, she's engaged in a full-on media assault beginning this week, coming out on her blog, in our paper and other online communities she's part of.
She's trying to get traction in the greater community for kinky people; she believes everyone's kinky, they just have to figure out the details. To that end, she and three friends launched Sex Positive St. Louis, an online clearinghouse for events and information about learning to have way more fun naked time.
Since the story has come out, she's gotten lots of support and plenty of sass in the comments section of her blog and of our story: Who cares what she does? Why does it matter? What about the kid? How do her parents feel about the whole thing? Can she ever get a real job again? Isn't she ashamed? (For the record: Fuck no, she's not ashamed.)
If you want the scoop, read the full version of the story here. And don't say we didn't warn you. It's not exactly safe for work.
