Nick Cave sounds like Debbie Gibson by comparison. On the newly released EP, Blood Bunny / Black Rabbit, the core duo of Pall Jenkins and Tobias Nathaniel remakes the mixtape as a suicide note. The EP seamlessly sequences grim and gripping instrumentals with remixes where pianos clang like funeral bells, drum and bass beat like a migraine and lyrics become hairshirts. At their most chipper, Jenkins and Nathaniel look around their native San Diego and discover that even if there's "nothing to believe," there's plenty of metaphorical poison and literal drugs to go around. Slipping into darkness has never been so easy — or so addictive.
