Founded by art director Monte Beauchamp, Blab! began as an innovatively designed prose and comics compendium but, over time, became less verbose by opening its doors to leading talents in painting, printmaking and illustration. After eighteen issues and a handful of one-shot publications to its name, Blab! is being rebooted as Blabworld, an annual 128-page hardcover publication jockeying for position as the centerpiece of your coffee table. From 6 to 8 p.m, Friday, November 12, The Philip Slein Gallery (1319 Washington Avenue; 314-621-4634 or www.philipsleingallery.com) hosts an exhibition of Blabworld art and release party for the debut of the revamped publication. Monte Beauchamp and contributors CJ Pyle, Fred Stonehouse, Michael Noland, Tom Huck, Larry Day will all be in attendance to sign copies. The exhibit is free and runs through Saturday, December 18; the gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday.
Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: Nov. 12. Continues through Dec. 18, 2010
