Ever wondered what Theodore would sound like if the group had sprouted out of Athens instead of St. Louis? The answer is likely the Futurebirds. Listening to the band's debut, Hampton's Lullaby, it's natural to picture a group of beards clad in flannel (photos of the Futurebirds verify this assumption to be largely true) creating the perfect soundtrack to a chilly autumn bonfire in the boondocks. The indie rock is supplemented with substantial twang and countrified lyrics, with the occasional turn toward gospel. Jonny Corndawg and the Dive Poets will also perform.
