Oz-some

Even after all these years, The Wizard of Oz still has the power to fascinate audiences of all ages. Some of that is attributable to the brilliant imagination of L. Frank Baum, and some is strictly down to the 1939 film from MGM. It is the latter that inspired the Royal Shakespeare Company's art-deco stage production, and the version currently touring the country is based on that acclaimed show. Loaded with special effects and well stocked with those beloved Harold Arlen songs, this Wizard of Oz is sure to dazzle children of all ages. The Wizard of Oz is performed at 1 and 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 1 p.m. only Sunday (November 26 through 28) at the Fox Theatre (527 North Grand Boulevard; 314-534-1111 or www.fabulousfox.com). Tickets are $23 to $60.
