How many of us feel chained down, heavy, like we're wearing lead boots? And how often do we imagine what it would be like to be liberated from the problems and issues that constantly, perpetually weigh on our minds? While we may not be able to escape our load permanently, we at least can feel lighter than air when we watch dancers perform. These masters of movement seem to float as they maneuver and negotiate the performance space, breaking free from conventional steps, letting loose and showing us what it would be like to shed that burdensome weight. With (un)Bridled, a modern-dance concert presented by ANNONYArts, Tara W.F. Cacciatore, Amanda Edgar and Janele S. Oros (pictured, who also directs the show) specifically focus their works to help express the choices we make in life and the concept of freedom.
