Every year, Ms. Day imagines a perfect holiday season that never manifests. She dreams of a time of world peace (or at least family harmony), delish eats (or a meal without Brussels sprouts) and thoughtful gifts (or just no terrible themed clothing). Alas, none of these wishes will ever fully come true for her — Ms. Day doesn't control the world, you know — but for one weekend, she just might be able to visualize a best-case scenario. Your holiday hopes might seem more within reach, too, at St. Louis Holiday Magic, held at the America's Center (701 Convention Plaza). This weekend-long affair features an indoor ice-skating rink, train rides, a shopping district, a beer garden and even carnival rides! Plus, the Purina Incredible Dog Team performs! What could be cuter than that? The holiday fun happens from noon to 7 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday (December 3 through 5), and admission costs $6 to $10, which includes carnival rides.
