Sometimes it's easy for St. Louisans to forget that there's an entire world east of the Mississippi, a world with yummy food and potent drinks to discover. Illinois law actually prohibits happy-hour drink specials, but Hanley's Grille & Tap, located in Fairview Heights, has made the best of a bad situation by having great drink specials, such as $3 fishbowl margaritas and $5 martinis, that last all day long. The restaurant has a casual sleekness to it, and with a variety of microbrews on tap and a deliciously creamy, cheesy spinach-and-artichoke dip, Hanley's is a great reason to head across the river.
