Intercontinental Christmas

Sure, Christmas is supposed to be a special time of year. Every passing yuletide, however, it becomes more and more difficult to push past the commercialization and actually enjoy being with one's family and friends. St. Louis is fortunately graced with plenty of opportunities to get out of the malls. This year's Christmas 'Round the World holiday show by the Gateway Men's Chorus at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday (December 10 and 11) at Washington University's Edison Theatre (6445 Forsyth Boulevard) promises to delight and lift spirits, with seasonal music drawn from Asia, the Mideast, Europe and even North America. Plus, you can expect special appearances by Julia Child, Leroy the Red-Necked reindeer, and the dancing polka guys. Tickets are $15 to $25 and are available through the Gateway Men's Chorus website at www.gatewaymenschorus.org. Call 314-289-4169 for more information.
Fri., Dec. 10; Sat., Dec. 11, 2010
