Bells on Bobtail

If you’re into the whole “traditional Christmas” thing, it’s hard to beat Winter Wonderland at Tilles Park (9951 Litzsinger Road, Ladue; www.stlouisco.com/parks/ww/ww.htm). All right, so the one million electric lights are a bit anachronistic, but on Saturday nights the park is closed to vehicular traffic and the only way to traverse the 75 acres of decorations is by horse-drawn carriage. That is old school, friends. Picture yourself in your finest top hat, your lady by your side with her hands ensconced in her muff (grow up, man) as you whisk through the park in a small private carriage ($60 to $78, and it seats up to six people if you wanna triple date). Or you can go for the boisterous group outing where you spontaneously sing “Sleigh Ride” while riding in a massive, 25-person sleigh ($10 a head, which is quite the deal). So go on, get your Christmas on the way people did 90 years ago. Advance tickets are highly recommended, and you can purchase ’em through MetroTix at 314-534-1111 or online at www.metrotix.com.
