Take Her to the Cabaret, Ray

You can't become proficient in love without getting your heart stomped by one or two selfish people along the way. That also means that at some point in your life, you've been the heart-stomper. Tonight, on this corporate-mandated faux-holiday of love, revel in the heartbreak, the pain and the worst moment in any relationship: The breakup. Christina Rios shares her "Top 5 Breakups" in a cabaret performance entitled 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover at 8 p.m. at the Black Cat Theatre (2810 Sutton Boulevard, Maplewood; 314-781-8300 or www.blackcattheatre.org). Through the music of Paul Simon (naturally), Stephen Sondheim (of course) and Weird Al Yankovic (eh?), Rios dispenses hard-won advice on the game of love, along with a generous helping of humor. Tickets are $15 to $18.
