Film Dynasty

Washington University already hosts African, Taiwan and Italian film festivals, and this weekend, it's adding a Korean Film Festival to its repertoire. Featuring just three full-length works, this burgeoning program offers a broad enough range of films, including a touching documentary at 8 p.m. on Friday, February 25 (Old Partner, about an elderly man and his friend, an old cow that's been by his side for years), a thriller at 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 26 (M, about a novelist who always feels like someone is watching him), and a drama at 7 p.m. on Saturday night (Breathless tells the story of a gangster who witnessed his mother's and sister's deaths and tries to find some sense of peace). All films are in Korean with English subtitles, and screenings, held at Washington University's Brown Hall (Forsyth and Skinker boulevards; fms.artsci.wustl.edu) are free, making it difficult to pass up a chance to minor in international film — if only for a weekend.
