Bad Shoe is St. Louis' literary magazine by women, for the people. For its fifth issue, the shoe is on the other foot; many of the writers featured this time around are men. Brett Underwood, Joe Sulier, Phil Gounis and several other fellas address concepts of femininity and womanhood from a male perspective, offering a view of the female world from the other pair of chromosomes. The Bad Shoe magazine release party takes place at 7 p.m. this evening at the Archive (3215 Cherokee Street; 314-398-9230). Participating writers will read their work, Matt Freeman and the Skekses will provide musical entertainment, and snacks will be available for purchase from the Cherokee Peach. Admission is free, and Bad Shoe issue five will be available at a special price of $8.
