Ancient Order of Hibernians St. Patrick's Day Parade

Dogtown is pound for pound the most Irish neighborhood in St. Louis. Every year on St. Patrick's Day proper, the neighborhood proves its bonafides by hosting the Ancient Order of Hibernians St. Patrick's Day Parade. The parade starts at noon at the intersection of Tamm and Oakland avenues, and continues south through the heart of Dogtown to Brockschmidt Place. Civic groups, neighborhood businesses and Irish families all march with pride, and then disperse to the bars and taverns for post-parade celebrations. Be advised that there is no parking in Dogtown on the 17th, unless your car has a special resident sticker. In addition to there being no parking, there are also no glass bottles allowed. This is less of a nuisance than you think, because those aforementioned taverns will all be ready to serve you a drink or two. For more information, visit www.stlhibernians.com.
