It must make a certain strand of mid-'90s underground rock fan feel a bit nostalgic, wistful or just plain old to witness the slew of reunion tours by certain canonized bands. No resurrection was more surprising (or lucrative) than Pavement's recent spate of shows and festival gigs, and Guided by Voices put together its "classic lineup" for a series of dates last fall. Certainly Sebadoh fits in with that camp, both in lo-fi sound and DIY spirit, though principals Lou Barlow and Jason Loewenstein have flown the flag a few times this decade, albeit with a rotating cast of drummers. The band has no plans to issue new recordings, but the forthcoming reissues of the beloved LPs Bakesale and Harmacy should give fans something to chew on.
