Is there any noise more chest-vibrating and satisfying than the reverberations of a gong? It almost sounds like hitting your funny bone feels — but in a good way. Couple that with a 70-foot dragon, and you've got yourself some serious Year of the Rabbit entertainment, all thanks to the Missouri Botanical Garden's Chinese Culture Days. During this festival, held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (May 21 and 22), expect lots of gong-banging, dragon-dancing (at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.), free cooking demonstrations and Chinese fare (available for purchase), hourly guided tours of the Chinese Garden (from noon to 4 p.m.), performances by the New Shanghai Circus Troupe (at noon and 4 p.m.) and much, much more. Admission to the festival costs $5 to $12, and the garden is located at 4344 Shaw Boulevard (314-577-5100 or www.mobot.org).
