Screenwriter Bob Gale once idly wondered if he and his father would have been friends if they were contemporaries; this moment of reverie eventually took the 80s by storm in the form of the film, Back to the Future. Michael J. Fox became a mega-star, skateboarding became hugely popular again, Huey Lewis & the News added more sacks of money to their pile -- Back to the Future clearly has magical powers.
