Old Crow Medicine Show hasn't graced St. Louis since its October 2008 show at the Pageant. It's a shame, as that night was so full of energy that it might be one of the only times crowd-surfing has happened to bluegrass. We need more of that. If OCMS won't come here, go to it. The band's big, old-timey-tinged acoustic stomps will fill the Blue Note. It's worth the road trip for the raucous sing-alongs and heartbreaking odes to the modern American countryside littered with poverty and drugs. The Medicine Show is fresh off a tour with Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and current folky darling Mumford & Sons when the bands traveled across the American Southwest by train.
