Thanks for pointing this one out! I took a bus all the way to Chicago to see Holcombe Waller open for Chris Pureka in May. This show will be FANTASTIC.

It's a triple threat of solo acoustic performers, out on what they're calling the Waiting For Lightning to Strike tour. It's an apt title, as all three specialize in lonely, thoughtful songs that conjure quiet moments between big events. Haley Bonar was raised in South Dakota's Black Hills. She has been making records since her teens, when she recorded her 2003 debut album for Low's Chairkickers label. Her latest album, the Kickstarter-fueled, self-released Golder, should please fans of Beth Orton or Neko Case. Bonar will be joined by Daniel Martin Moore, who has just released his second Sub Pop album, and Portland, Oregon's Holcombe Waller. Certain of the latter's shows have culminated in "private bed-ins," but you'll need to attend to find out more. (Hint: they are nowhere near as prurient as they sound.)
