It's been more than 40 years since Little Feat began its idiosyncratic musical journey, starting with quirky, country-tinged California rock and then reinventing its sound as a blend of Southern boogie and New Orleans funk, rooted in the blues and seasoned with everything from jazz fusion to zydeco. After an extended hiatus following the death of singer, guitarist and co-founder Lowell George in 1979, the band's 1987 comeback Let It Roll re-established them as a touring unit with keyboardist Bill Payne and guitarist Paul Barrere firmly in control. Little Feat suffered another major loss in 2010 when drummer and founding member Richie Hayward died from pneumonia while waiting for a liver transplant, but they've soldiered on with Hayward's former tech Gabe Ford taking over behind the kit.
