When the famously tour-shy Steely Dan resumed recording and gigging once again in the early aughts, expectations were somewhat guarded. The band's famed studio perfectionism seemed neither easy to re-create onstage nor particularly thrilling to watch. But Walter Becker and Donald Fagen's intricate, wry jazz-rock standards still go down smooth, thanks to topnotch backing bands and their own well-preserved idiosyncrasies on their instruments and as co-masters of ceremony. In the past few years, Steely Dan has taken to playing its landmark albums like Aja and Gaucho front-to-back, so expect some deep cuts to satisfy the many die-hards and audiophiles in the audience.

Recommended cocktail pairing: Don't be afraid to go literal with your drink choices; have some Cuervo Gold with "Hey Nineteen," Scotch alongside "Deacon Blues" and, if you can, sneak in some Kirschwasser for "Babylon Sisters."
