How prescient does David Robertson look now? Choosing to open the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra's 2011 season with two evenings (Friday and Saturday, September 16 and 17) of Stravinsky is admittedly not much of a gamble, but the choice of The Rites of Spring smacks of some sort of precognition -- for once, mid-September in St. Louis does in fact feel spring-like instead of continuing summer's assault on our will to live. Robertson leads the SLSO through Stravinsky's Petrushka and Les Noces before dropping the heathen majesty of the Rites on us. Dancing in the aisles is discouraged at Powell Symphony Hall (718 North Grand Boulevard; 314-534-1700 or www.slso.org), but there's nothing stopping you from dancing your way back to your car when the show's over -- and with Robertson and the SLSO being what they are, you'll probably not be the only one spinning your way through the night once the last bow is taken. Performances are at 8 p.m. both nights, and tickets are $20 to $110.
