Oneohtrix Point Never/Raglani

8 p.m. Sunday, October 2. The Luminary Center for the Arts, 4900 Reber Place.

If old analog synths were as easy to use as some people claim, all the keyboard-collecting dorks would sound as lush and evocative as Oneohtrix Point Never, the nom de synth of Daniel Lopatin. His largely instrumental works are derived almost entirely from 1980s-born instruments, though the retro whiffs don't overpower his sometimes drone-like compositions. He's been championed by Animal Collective and worked with Antony Hegarty, but Lopatin's best work stands alone in an amber-cured cloud of whirring oscillators, unstable tuning and dancing arpeggiators. St. Louis' own mystical synthesist Raglani opens the show.
