Halloween can get a little adult in nature, what with the popularity of gore and the increasingly sexy costumes. If you have younger goblins around the house and no desire to scar them for life, take 'em to Boo at the Zoo Nights at the Saint Louis Zoo in Forest Park (314-646-4771 or www.stlzoo.org). This non-scary, kid-friendly Halloween event for the younger set features seasonally appropriate decorations ('ware the giant spider!) and snacks in the Lakeside Café, night hikes every half hour ($5 fee), and a cobweb-shrouded Scare-ou-sel ($3 per ride). Costumes for kids younger than twelve are encouraged, but please, no masks or costumes on anyone older. Boo at the Zoo takes place from 5:30 to 8 p.m. nightly through Sunday, October 30. Admission is $4 to $5.
