HEY, JEALOUSY
Brewing trouble: What the hell is InBev complaining about ["Report: AB-InBev Outraged Over World Series Bet Excluding Budweiser," Chad Garrison]? It's not like they made a hostile takeover of A-B and then turned around and fired thousands of A-B execs and management then turned around and cut off almost all the charitable donations that A-B used to give to the local foodbanks, outreach programs and other charities.

Sorry, InBev, I know a whole lot of people who won't touch a Budweiser or Bud Light ever again after the crap you guys pulled when you took over. Go cry in the Amazon River. We don't give a shit what you think — and Schlafly is a much better beer than anything you sell.

New local brew: Earth to Francis Slay's PR machine: Schlafly is so 1998. The cool kids hang at Urban Chestnut.

Knotted knickers: Being a giant international corporate a-hole makes InBev look petty. Better for corporate PR to just ignore this, but nooooo. Somebody's got their knickers in a knot.

It's a lose-lose situation if they make a big deal about this. But then, since A-B isn't an American company anymore, nobody cares. The future is in real, locally brewed quality beer. Not Bud-swill. InBev made a very unwise purchase.

He's baaaaack: She would have been better off pitting our opera house against those in Arlington and Dallas, if she could find it. It's a block to the west, and it is closed most of the time. But it's better than theirs. Then the "kids" in Webster Groves would be pissed off.

You can't keep everybody happy. Trying to do so is how cities disappear.

TAKING BABY CARLOS
Solomon's choice: It was despicable what those "well-intentioned" people did to this child ["The Battle of Carthage," John H. Tucker]. To think that as a babysitter you have the right to put a child up for adoption then send a letter to the family saying there's nothing you can do about it. Ugh! Then that horrible woman saying she answers to a higher power, while trying to compel a woman to give her child up for financial reasons! Doesn't she read her Bible? Moses wasn't given up for adoption to give him wealth, but to save him from being murdered. When two women came before King Solomon both claiming the same child as theirs, the mother fought for her child, only relinquishing when the child was threatened with death. Yet this Bible-reading woman thinks a mother should hand over her son because he won't grow up middle class? How many middle-class-raised drug addicts are there? How many poor-raised success stories?

During the adoption proceedings it was revealed the Mosers weren't qualified to be foster parents because of his criminal history and her family history. But the babysitters and the teacher decided they had their own set of qualifications as to whom should raise a mother's child despite her objections. Despicable behavior.

That child had a mother and a family who were caring for him and wanted to continue to care for him. That mother should get her child back. The child would not be dropped in Guatemala the next day. The court would order a transition period of visits and therapy with the mother before a full custody transfer.

This was an incredibly well-written and detailed article. Probably the most comprehensive coverage on all aspects of the story. The writer and the paper both deserve much credit for doing the research and the work to inform the readers.

I know this is off topic, but as a delivery driver I drive by AB a lot. I want to know why people bring kids to the tours? You might as well buy him/her a beer at the sports bar. I wish they had pot farm tours. Oh yeah....
