In Gainsbourg: A Heroic Life, the quirky, sexy biopic based on the life of legendary French singer/songwriter/actor/director Serge Gainsbourg, a few things soon become evident. First, Gainsbourg had his fair share of women, and then some: Brigitte Bardot, Jane Birkin and Bambou all fell under his spell. But he also embodied the role of France's Renaissance Man from the '60s right up until his death in 1991. Gainsbourg recently screened at the St. Louis International Film Fest, but if you missed it then you can catch it this week at the Webster Film Series. The film screens at 7:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday (December 11 through 15) at Webster University's Moore Auditorium (470 East Lockwood Avenue; 314-968-7487 or www.webster.edu/filmseries). Tickets are $5 to $6.
