If we're being honest, the joy at beholding a light-strewn house is rarely worth the hassle of untangling light strands, replacing those tiny blown bulbs and risking low-voltage shocks just to make our dwellings merry. This year, don't struggle with the extension ladder; rather let the St. Louis County Parks and Recreation Department's Winter Wonderland fill your need for Christmas lights of all colors and arrangements. Held each year since 1986 at Tilles Park (McKnight Road and Litzinger Road, Ladue), the lighted spectacle allows visitors to see myriad displays of more than a million lights from the comfort of their cars. Winter Wonderland is open nightly from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. through Sunday, January 1 (the park is closed on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve) and costs $9 per family vehicle.
