>Time to check in on Kristeen Young, the St. Louis native with a keyboard, big hair and a much bigger vocal range. After nearly a decade of playing every venue like it was the Pageant, she actually got there when Morrissey tapped her to open for a 2007 tour. One fan, observed by a reviewer for the RFT, succinctly summed up the city's general response: "God, I wish she would shut the fuck up." But it is no longer 2007, and she returns on the heels of another tour with Moz. She's taken the space from her band's moniker and released some new material — notably this year's V the Volcanic, a concept EP based on the perspectives of supporting characters in some of her favorite movies.

Mean-spirited and totally unnecessary bashing of a local done good. I saw her open for Morrissey and really enjoyed her set. I wondered why everyone always seems to be putting her down. Maybe because she moved away and is the favorite of an icon?
Typical of St Louis: remain staunchly narrow minded, Zip Code Centric isolationist, Eat you own "young" , debauch your own Celebrities ,to what possible end ??? You have NO idea who this Woman is anyway ! Things like this remind me why it is such a relief & Joy NOT to live there anymore_

God, who pays these losers for such poor journalism?! People like Kiernan are the Crashing Bores Morrissey writes about. Closed minds, content with boring lullabies for music. Okay, it's one thing to not care for someone's music, but to write about them in such a mean way, and worse, in a sorry excuse for a review or critique of a show? What part of this pathetic article actually covers her performance? The sound, what she wore, her interaction with the audience? None of that, just insults and misinformation. Ugh, just get a fucking life already.
I guess his time machine was broken and he wasn't able to make it to Friday to review the show before it happened.
