Start the new year off by staring Friday the 13th and all its foreboding implications right in the ski-masked face. Since folklore and slasher films have made us all a bit superstitious about the otherwise harmless date, embrace safety in numbers tonight at Gore in the Dark at Koken Art Factory (2500 Ohio Avenue; 314-776-7600 or www.kokenartfactory.com). Free Red Bull energy drinks and DJs Coreyography, Kool Hersh and Jay Fay will keep the dance floor packed with folks in horror-inspired, glow-in-the-dark garb. Those with two left feet but two fully-functioning eyeballs can instead watch sexy models get body-painted against a blacklit backdrop. See? Nothing to worry about. You might even make some new friends -- just avoid dudes named Jason. The dance party starts at 7 p.m. and lasts until 3 a.m. Tickets are $10.
