It's not so easy without Google maps and satellite imagery on your side, but you can certainly try. Steve Nagle, the director of community planning for the East-West Gateway Council of Governments, wants to make that scene a little easier to envision, while shaping a perspective on how St. Louis developed into its contemporary self. Visions of Common Ground: Land Use Evolution in Metropolitan St. Louis will focus on the ebb and flow of the Lou and its urban development at 7 p.m. tonight. The presentation will be held at the Missouri History Museum's Lee Auditorium (Lindell Boulevard and DeBaliviere Avenue; 314-746-4599 or www.mohistory.org). Admission is free.
