Let's Get Seussical

Behold, an amazing journey awaits you! A kind elephant named Horton is here to protect the Whos. And that Cat in the Hat -- where's he been at? Sound familiar? While that verse may not compare to those of Seuss himself, the folks at the Florissant Civic Center Theatre are more than up to snuff in the realm of rhymes, as proven by their production of the musical inspired by the doctor himself, Seussical. Watch as the wonderfully woven stories of Horton and the speck of dust; his admirer, Gertrude the one-feathered bird, and JoJo the nonstop thinker meld with characters and scenery from over fifteen different Dr. Seuss books, some of which might stump the casual reader. The show opens Friday, February 17 with a 7:30 p.m. performance, followed by 2 p.m. matinees on Saturday and Sunday (February 18 and 19) at the James J. Eagen Center (1 James J. Eagen Drive, Florissant). Tickets are $7 and can be purchased by calling 314-921-5678.
