William Roberts II learned that game, ostensibly, while serving as a correctional officer in South Florida in the '90s before deciding, "Nahh." The corpulent rapper took his name and persona from "Freeway" Ricky Ross, a notorious cocaine slinger who was famously pinched in connection with Iran-Contra. Roberts has built an empire on a borrowed legend — and helped usher in a new era where the truth is second only to the almighty flow.
